We're really excited to announce our participation in Echion Technologies £10m Series A. Echion are developing niobium anodes for use in Li-ion batteries. The inclusion of niobium improves energy-density and charge-speed while maintaining high safety, putting them at a distinct advantage to current anode technologies.

Batteries will be at the heart of the zero-carbon energy transition from end-product uses like cars and trucks to static grid storage that both regulates and powers the grid. Echion's improvements to Li-ion will significantly expand the applicability of Li-ion batteries and improve their performance in existing applications. One area that we are particularly excited about is long-distance, heavy duty vehicles, where the combination of high energy density and fast charge times could unlock electrification and eliminate over 1 Gt CO2e emissions.

It has been so much fun getting to know Jean and the team at Echion. They're so passionate and knowledgable, it's a pleasure to work with them. And off the back of their Series A they are hiring. So if you want to be part of the battery revolution, get in touch with them.
